Giants for Toddlers
I saw They Might Be Giants perform at Borders the other night for the release of their new children's album. I love that these two guys have taken their clever lyrics and goofball tendencies to a new, very appropriate audience of two- to eight-year olds. The crowd was about half college-aged stoners (their original and loyal fan base) and half toddlers with their parents. Groupie kids are great -- they dance and bounce and sing along and generally liven things up. Not that the college fans didn't do pretty much the same thing, but the four-year-olds near me were much more entertaining to watch.
